Story of Prakru Vidhes-dhamakhun

In B.E. 2499, Baan-Doo was deemed to be an undeveloped village located in countryside. All roads were bumpy and rough so villagers had to walk or transport on wagon only.

Most villagers were poor farmers. They had no electricity or drainage. Even though these people normally used lamps and consumed natural water, they lived happily together.

Every child in this village must go to Wat Dhart School, the local primary school, where only opened elementary education.

Prasit aimed for higher education but unfortunately he did not have a chance due to poverty since his parent had a number of children.

Prasit Pholchaiya was born in the village and went to Wat Dhart School once qualified. Prasit was hard working and liked to read books, seek knowledge, also support family and the others. He was a beloved person for teacher and other students.

Once finished the 4th grade, Prasit was ordained a novice in Udom Baan-koo Temple, Amphur Na-Phoe, for higher education. During novitiate, Prasit hoped that he would develop his homeland if he was successful.

Prasit, the novice, went to study in Bangkok until he turned 20 years old. Then he became a monk and finished the 5th level in Buddhist Theology in Amphur Bang-kruay, Nonthaburi.

Regarding to his passion for seeking knowledge, Prasit had been assiduous in learning and practicing Dharma until awarded PhD degree from Magadh University, Rath Viharn, India.

Pra Maha Prasit, PhD., stayed in Palelai Temple, Bedok District, Singapore during the Buddhist Lent. Meanwhile he was the vice-president of Thai ecclesiastic assembly in Singapore, and awarded the ecclesiastic title as Pra Kru Vidhes-dharmakhun.

During his stay in Singapore, Pra Kru Vidhes-dharmakhun received high respect and faith from Thai workers in Singapore.

Pra Kru Vidhes-dharmakhun will bring both Thais and Singaporeans to make merit in Thailand, especially for supporting Buddhism and Education.

In respect of religious support, Pra Kru Vidhes-dharmakhun has brought Buddhist Singaporeans to help the villagers to build a new temple, improve marshland in Baan Dhart Temple, and develop the village as much as possible.

For educational support, every year Pra Kru Vidhes-dharmakhun has brought Singaporeans to build the library, and donate stationeries, computers, books, and scholarships to impecunious students.

It is deemed that Pra Kru Vidhes-dharmakhun has integrity and gratitude to his homeland. Moreover he has fulfilled all tasks as committed, so deserves admiration and becomes the role model to posterity.
